Carl Tietjen

Carl has extensive industry experience in purchasing and materials management leadership and operations.  He is currently an Executive at the University of Rochester in Western New York.  He has demonstrated successes within the area of purchasing and supply chain, including converting the University’s primary medical distributor all of their acute care facilities as well as all of the physician practices.  He is currently working on a system-wide physician preference and purchased services opportunities.

His past roles include Sr. Director of Supply Chain for the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore, Maryland,  Alleghany Health & Research Foundation in Philadelphia and Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia where he has implemented several process improvement and cost savings strategies, including the implementation of sustainability initiatives and Historically Under-Utilized Business initiatives.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor's Degree from St. John’s University in New York.
