Group Vice President Supply Chain
Scott Komar serves as Group Vice President of Supply Chain, for Driscoll’s, the world’s leading fresh berry company. This role encompasses sales & operations planning, food safety, quality assurance, procurement, distribution, logistics, and platform development. Komar is a member of the Executive Committee for Driscoll’s of the Americas, the business unit that spans North and South America.
Prior to Driscoll’s, Komar was COO for organicgirl / NewStar Fresh Foods. As part of the founding management team and ownership base, Komar was a principle lead in launching organicgirl to serve the premium packaged salad segment, while restructuring NewStar for specialty fresh pack vegetables.
He began his fresh foods career path with Fresh Express, the nation’s leading package salad company. During his tenure he served for five years as CIO, then transitioned to Vice President of Supply Chain, and finished as Senior Vice President of Operations and Strategic Planning. Fresh Express was successfully sold to Chiquita Brands International.
Komar began his career in Mergers & Acquisitions with First Interstate Bank (acquired by Wells Fargo), finishing as Vice President of Business Banking. Following that, he co-founded Alacrity Financial Systems, serving as President. Alacrity developed a suite of profitability measurement systems used by financial institutions across North America, and was successfully sold to IPS / Fiserv.
Komar is a graduate of UCLA, with a Bachelor of Science with honors in Math-Systems Science, and Stanford University, with a Master of Science in Engineering-Economic Systems. He resides in Carmel Valley, CA with his wife, Chris, and their four teenage children.
